Especially with girls who are bi/poly/pansexual who just have happened to only have dated men and it’s like… it’s so ridiculous because some people just know more men that like girls than people of other genders/orientations so like naturally there’s more of a likelihood that they would date men and I mean like ugh when people try to define other peoples’ sexualities based on who they’ve dated… like what, if someone’s never dated anyone does that mean they don’t have a sexuality? What is this crap? I AM INDIGNANT!

Also not to mention, heterosexist society only teaches us to read romantic/sexual body language from the sex that is bullshittily deemed “opposite” (fact: non-binary people live in special orbs of light that provide all the love and sexual gratification they need through a very complicated process known only to said non-binary people and can never be spoken of in detail lest the non-binary folks disappear forever) so I mean I know it’s definitely been hard for me to accept or even recognize flirting from people who aren’t guys because I’ve been conditioned to only recognize and want attention from guys (plus I suppressed myself for years). So if someone realizes/accepts their sexuality after years and years of that conditioning, they might still be less likely to date someone who’s not a guy just because they never learned how to pick up social cues from those people.

And it’s frustrating because I’m afraid if I have a crush on a boy I’ll be too hesitant to even date him because I’d be so afraid of being read as a girl in a heterosexual relationship which would just lead to misgendering which would be poops.
